Nautical Corset

The first corset in my mini collection is the Nautical Corset. I was inspired by the nautical styles that were in the shops. I love all the stripe designs and colours, along with the anchor symbols and anything to do with the sea.

I decided on a white base which I wanted to decorate finding anything nautical. I collected anything I could find that may be useful including charms, ribbons and other things. I wanted to keep the corset inkeeping with the typical nautical colour ways and decided to use blue ribbon to decorate the seam lines the red was a last minute decision to give the corset more colour and I realised that the red really stood out even with only a small amount.
I played around with the look of final design as I was making this corset. I loved the idea of the gold naval buttons and gold trimming to give it the unifrom look.
I decided that I did not want to use eyelts on tbis corset, I wanted to try something different. I decided to use straps going across the back with gold D rings to hold in place. I thought this worked well and I kept the theme going with the anchor prints straps.

(More photos of the Nautical Corset can be seen on the corsets page of the blog.)
